Dick Dale (Richard Anthony Monsour) (May 4, 1937 – March 16, 2019)
Dick Dale, the pioneer of surf rock known for his 1962 hit Misirlou, died Saturday
night of heart failure. He was 81. Dick Dale had recently been in treatment for cancer, from which he had twice previously recovered.
The iconic guitarist inspired artists as varied as The Beach Boys, Jimi Hendrix,
Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Eddie Van Halen.
