Katherine Anderson-Schaffner, a founding member of
The Marvelettes, has died at age 79. A cause of death
is unknown.

The news was confirmed by her daughter, Keisha
Schaffner, on Wednesday (Sept. 20) via Facebook.

Debut album in 1961

On September 21, 1942, the U.S. B-29 Superfortress made its
debut flight in Seattle, Washington. It was the largest bomber
