folk song of the state in which he has lived most of his adult life. He
has also made several acting appearances.

Frida Kahlo de Rivera (Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo y Calderón)
(July 6, 1907 – July 13, 1954). 

Mexican painter Frida Kahlo was associated with Surrealism and Magic Realism
and is best known for her 55 self-portraits. She was inspired by the indigenous
Mexican culture and Mexican mythology. Her childhood home, Casa Azul, was transformed into a Mexico City museum and tourist attraction after her death.

Trailblazing athlete Althea Gibson became the first African-American player to win the Wimbledon women’s singles tennis title on this day
in 1957.

Roy Rogers (Leonard Franklin Slye)
(November 5, 1911 – July 6, 1998)

Known as the "King of the Cowboys", Roy Rogers 
appeared in over 100 films and numerous radio
and television episodes of The Roy Rogers Show.

The song “Love in Bloom” was first recorded by Bing Crosby with
Irving Aaronson and his Commanders for Brunswick Records. It
was introduced in the 1934 film She Loves Me Not by Bing Crosby
and Kitty Carlisle. 

Huey Lewis (Hugh Anthony Cregg III) was born in New York City,
New York.

Lewis sings lead and plays harmonica for his band, Huey Lewis and the News,
in addition to writing or co-writing many of the band’s songs. The band is known
for their third, and best-selling, album titled Sports, and their contribution to the
soundtrack of the 1985 feature film Back to the Future. Lewis previously played
with the band Clover from 1972 to 1979.
