Lynyrd Skynyrd vocalist Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist Steve Gaines, Cassie Gaines
Steve’s sister) and road manager Dean Kilpatrick were killed when their plane
crashed in Gillsburg, MS. The other four members of the band were seriously
injured but survived the crash.

When Jacqueline Bouvier and then-U.S. Representative John Kennedy were
married, an estimated 700 guests attended the ceremony at St Mary’s Church
in Newport, Rhode Island and 1,200 were at the reception that followed at
Hammersmith Farm

Singer Tommy Adrian Sands began playing the guitar at age
eight and within a year landed job performing twice weekly on
a local radio station. He was only 15 when Colonel Tom Parker
heard about him and signed him to RCA Records.

Sands performed in several films including Mardi Gras (1958),
The Longest Day (1962), Ensign Pulver (1964), and None But
the Brave (1965),

In 1960, Sands married Nancy Sinatra. They were divorced in 1965

John Lennon and his wife Cynthia

John Lennon married his pregnant girlfriend, Cynthia Powell at the Mount
Pleasant Registry Office in Liverpool. Paul and George were the only others
in attendance. The couple tried to keep the marriage quiet, but they were
spotted coming out of the registry office. John and Cynthia divorced in
November of 1968.

It was In June of 1958, that Buddy Holly met Maria Elena Santiago, a receptionist 
for music publisher Murray Deutch.. Less than two months later, they were married 
in a private ceremony at the home of Buddy’s parents in Lubbock, Texas. The couple honeymooned in Acapulco. Many Buddy Holly fans became aware of his marriage
only after his death on February 3, 1959 at age 22.

”True Love Ways” was recorded by Buddy on October 21,
1958 with his wife Maria in the studio
