Robert Dean Stethem (November 17, 1961 – June 15, 1985)

Stethem was a U.S. Navy Seabee who was murdered by Hezbollah terrorists
while aboard flight 847 during the hijacking.

The Continental Congress in Philadelphia adopted the "Stars and Stripes"
as the national flag of the United States. The Resolution stated "Resolved:
that the flag of the United States be made of thirteen stripes, alternate red
and white; that the union be thirteen stars, white in a blue field, that would
represent a new Constellation."

On May 20, 1916, President Woodrow Wilson officially proclaimed
June 14 "Flag Day" as a commemoration of the "Stars and Stripes."

Miranda v. Arizona, establishing the principle that all criminal suspects
must be advised of their specific legal rights when they are placed under

Les Paul (Lester William Polsfuss)  (June 9, 1915 – August 12, 2009) 

Les Paul  was one of the pioneers of the solid-body electric guitar, which made
the sound of rock and roll possible. Paul taught himself how to play guitar and
while he is mainly known for jazz and popular music, he had an early career in
country music. He is credited with many recording innovations. Although he was
not the first to use the technique, his early experiments with overdubbing, also
known as sound on sound, delay effects such as tape delay, phasing effects
and multitrack recording were among the first to attract widespread attention.

Jefferson Finis Davis

Jefferson Davis was President of the Confederate
States of America from its beginning in 1861 to its
collapse in 1865. His 1881 memoir The Rise and
Fall of the Confederate Government helped restore
his reputation after the war and he is now an icon
and symbol of pride for many Southerners.
