GANGSTER JAILED ON THIS DAY IN 1932
Alphonse Gabriel "Al" Capone (January 17, 1899 – January 25, 1947)
Al Capone was an gangster who led a Prohibition-era crime syndicate. He
was convicted on federal charges of tax evasion in 1931 and sentenced to
federal prison in Atlanta. Capone was later transferred to, what was then, a
newly established prison on Alcatraz Island in the San Francisco Bay. His term
there was completed on January 6, 1939.

Audrey Hepburn ( Born Audrey Kathleen Ruston in Belgium)
(May 4, 1929-January 20, 1993)
Audrey Hepburn was both a film and fashion icon. She was ranked by
the American Film Institute as the third greatest female screen legend
in the history of American cinema. Hepburn played the Academy Award–
winning lead role in Roman Holiday (1953). She starred in a number of
successful films, such as Sabrina(1954), Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961),
Charade (1963), and My Fair Lady (1964). Hepburn remains one of a
few people who have won Academy, Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Awards.
