SITCOM DEBUTED ON THIS DAY IN 1952

My Little Margie starred Gale Storm and Charles Farrell and premiered as
the summer replacement for I Love Lucy. It alternated between CBS and
NBC from 1952 to 1955 under the sponsorship of Philip Morris cigarettes
and when the series moved to NBC for its third season in the fall of 1953,
Scott Paper Company became its sponsor.

The series was created by Frank Fox and produced in Los Angeles,
California
at Hal Roach Studios by Hal Roach, Jr. and Roland D. Reed.

COUNTRY SINGER BORN ON THIS DAY IN 1937



Waylon Arnold Jennings (June 15, 1937 – February 13, 2002) 
 
was born in
Littlefield, Texas. 

 
Without even knowing how to read music, Jennings vowed to have a
career in as a musician, and never have to pick cotton again. He was
the narrator of the original The Dukes of Hazzard.on CBS-TV from
January 26, 1979 – February 8, 1985.

HELEN HUNT IS 52 YEARS YOUNG TODAY



Helen Elizabeth Hunt was born in
Culver City, California.

Hunt co-starred with Paul Reiser in the NBC sitcom Mad About You (1992 – 1999) 
and appeared in the successful films, As Good As It Gets (1997) and Twister
(1996). She also appeared in Cast Away and Pay it Forward (2000). Her first
role was at age 9 in the 1973 TV movie, Pioneer Woman (below).

Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney’s vocal and acoustic guitar together with a string
quartet
essentially made for the first solo performance of The
Beatles. It remains popular today with more than 2,200 cover
versions
and is one of the most covered songs in the history
of recorded music. It was voted the No. 1 pop song of all time
by MTV and Rolling Stone magazine the following year. In
1997, the song was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame
and Broadcast Music Incorporated (BMI) reports that it was
performed over seven million times in the 20th century alone.
