Baseball Hall of Fame ballot, receiving 222 out of
a possible 226 votes (98.2%); no other player received a higher percentage of votes until
Tom Seaver in 1992. In 1999, editors at
the Sporting News ranked Ty Cobb third on their list of "Baseball’s
100 Greatest Players".
